This 5-star English Tourist Council B&B with Silver Award on the edge of the Peak District is a B&B with a difference.
Providing tranquil, well-appointed, quality en suite accommodation, Mardon House offers a luxury break in beautiful Derbyshire countryside. Opulent, individually designed rooms feature silk drapes and throws. The en suite bathrooms come with power showers and body jets.
The heated indoor pool and 6-seat hot tub are for guests’ use only, and complement your stay at this luxurious B&B. Holistic treatments can be pre-booked. There are several patio areas where you can enjoy drinks and the views across the open fields.
The pool is included in the room price. The hot-tub (when available) can be used at an additional cost.

All rooms are on the ground floor. The Chesterfield and Brookside rooms are very large, these also have sofas. In your room you will find a beautiful en suite bathroom with luxury fluffy towels and bathrobes and showers with body jets.
This is a cosy, warm room with a very inviting atmosphere. The colour scheme is cream with shades of bronze. There are silk drapes on the windows and around the bed for that luxurious feeling. The room has a fabulous queen-size cherrywood sleigh bed with a memory foam mattress. The power shower has an overhead variable outlet, and there is a hand-held variable outlet and 6 body jets. This bedroom is at the front of the property, overlooking the front garden. Shared use of the jacuzzi may be booked at an extra charge if available. Shared use of pool is included.
This is a large, spacious room with a traditional and classy decor. Enjoy the luxury of the wonderful carved oak four-poster bed dressed with pure cotton sheets, silk throws and drapes, complete with a memory foam mattress. A luxurious double jacuzzi bath is situated within the bedroom. A state-of-the-art coffee machine makes quality coffee, cappuccino, tea and hot chocolate.
This is very large and spacious room with a light, romantic atmosphere. The room has a beautiful, French-style queen-size bed with memory-foam mattress. A Tassimo drinks machine can make quality coffee, cappuccino, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. To chill your milk, wine and water/juice, a mini fridge is provided. There is a comfortable sofa to relax on and enjoy the flat screen TV. This room has a lovely view through large patio doors overlooking the garden and the open fields beyond. The spacious bathroom has a large corner bath and shower with body jets.
By Car
From North/South:
- From junction 29 of the M1, follow the A617 (to Chesterfield).
- At the first roundabout, take the 2nd exit (to town centre).
- At the next roundabout take the first exit (towards Chatsworth).
- At the traffic lights, go straight on. At the traffic light-controlled roundabout (B&Q), take the 2nd exit (A619).
- Follow the road to the next roundabout (Morrison's). Select the right-hand lane and take the 2nd exit, straight on (A619).
- Follow the road for approximately 2 miles into the national speed limit zone.
- Turn left at the sign for Holymoorside, onto Holymoor Road.
- Marden House is on the left, 200 yards after the bus stop.
From the East:
- Follow the A617 to Chesterfield, then the above route.
From the West:
- Head towards Chesterfield on the A619. Pass the Highwayman pub on the right.
- Continue to follow the road for approximately 2 miles and pass a petrol station on the left.
- Turn right at the sign for Holymoorside, onto Holymoor Road.
- Marden House is on the left, 200 yards after the bus stop.
